I’ve been there several times and will definitely be coming back for more massages. I had a 90-minute full-body massage with medium pressure, and I choose the same female practitioner because she is amazing. Wonderful energy and of course incredible hands. The pressure was perfect—everything was just right.
My body felt so relaxed and refreshed afterward. I suffer from chronic back pain, and the massage brought real relief.

I had a deep tissue massage with Mali two times and it was amazing. You receive a cold towel and a tee when you arrive and the shed is located in a small garden off the road and you are being massaged in an airy tent.
Mali was great and knew exactly what areas to focus on. Would absolutely recommend to boom with them.

Average. Excessive amounts of oil used for the hour long massages. I had the deep tissue massage which had good pressure. The lady avoided any glute work which i found unusual. They also spent a reasonable amount of time on the head and eyes which took away from the deep tissue massage. The location is in a tent right next to a busy road so expect a lot of outside noise (tuk tuk’s, dogs, people, etc). I’d score it 6/10.

Iresh understood the assignment! Deep tissue massage with the focus on removing knots in my upper back. I did not know I had so many…. 😂🥹💛 Regular with deep tissue massages, but Iresh really put in what it takes to resolve my tension.
He kept me in the loop and asked how I wanted to spend my time besides my specific request (knots) and he came with options himself: arms/legs/head. That was great! His technique was incredibly thorough, and he made sure to check in with me and my preferences throughout the entire session.

My friend and I visited the massage shed a number of times during our stay in Hiriketiya. I had Kasi, whilst my friend had Dana - both of whom were warm, friendly and highly skilled. They tailored our treatment to our specific needs and were incredibly attentive - making sure we were comfortable the entire time. The venue was lovely, very relaxing and inviting. The staff working at the front desk were also very friendly, helpful and welcoming - even showing us their puppies they rescued recently. Would highly recommend coming here - it was recommended to us and now we definitely understand why!

I had a fantastic experience at Massage Shed and came back for several massages during my stay in Hiri. The team was super friendly, warm and welcoming always. I tried massages with different masseuses and they all had different techniques and styles which was nice to try out. You can also ask to focus on one area if you have pain and for the intensity. All the massages I got were so good and I felt super relaxed after and they improved my back pain so much.
The place is very nicely set up with nice plants and flowers and feels peaceful with some zen music and big white curtains. I didn’t feel bothered by any noise and could fully relax. While waiting I could watch the cute little monkeys moving around in the trees.

Unfortunately, I absolutely cannot understand the good reviews here. Firstly, the massage was completely haphazard, with different techniques being applied to one side of my body than to the other. Secondly, the atmosphere is anything but relaxing. The massage rooms are separated by white sheets. Due to the proximity to the main road, you constantly hear horns and loud engines. Finally, after my feet were massaged, my face was suddenly massaged as well, which I found truly disgusting, especially since you have to go to the massage rooms barefoot.

Easily the best massage I have ever experienced. Dana was a miracle worker! I came in with a really tight and sore shoulder and neck from hiking and travelling and in an hour Dana had completely fixed it and removed every knot in my body. An incredible experience and I feel fantastic

I cannot recommend this place enough! I was really nervous about getting a massage but the staff here went above and beyond to be kind and professional in order to put me and my friend at ease.
I’ve had a lot of massages before but this was easily the most thorough - you can tell the staff really know what they are doing and are focused in caring for you as best they can! I had Mali and my friend Kasi, we cannot recommend them enough they were wonderful! Highly recommend

I booked the Ayurvedic Bliss 90 minute massage. I booked via WhatsApp and you get a return message asking you what pressure you would like. I’m a wimp and I don’t like a hard massage so selected option 1 soft and gentle.
It was the best massage I have ever had. Thank you Mali my therapist for 90 minutes of bliss. It was the most relaxing, healing and kindest massage. My body feels incredible after. If I could give more stars I would. I highly recommend.

Two super lovely ladies took care of me and my partner, giving us a wonderful massage in a beautiful outdoor pavilion with white curtains. The sheets were clean, and they even had a special setup for the headrest that allowed the neck to fully relax. Everything was clean, the price was great, and the service was incredibly friendly. Highly recommended! 🌺

I hate to disrupt such amazing reviews but think it is fair to let people know. Whilst I am sure there are some amazing massage therapists working here, I went with 3 friends we were told we could have, as requested 2 male and 2 female but got 4 female masseuses. 2 were good but not amazing and 2 were pretty poor, lacked experience, technique and symmetry, all were distracted by an underlying disagreement that was going on at the time, started late or stopped mid massage to talk to each other. I strongly recommend if you want to keep such a good Google rating you resolve these issues as a matter of urgency, 2 of us left feeling no better than when we arrived each of us was 7000 rupee lighter.

The massage was done by Mila, and it was very good. I had a strong massage that did me a lot of good. During the massage, you could hear the cars/tuk-tuks, which bothered me a little personally. Everything else was great.

Absolutely fantastic massage. We had a couples “the lot”. 2 hours of bliss and relaxation. Found every issue and problems that we had. Perfect pressure and strength for me but my wife had to ask them to be more gentle a few times so maybe make sure that you be upfront with the masseurs about this. Overall fabulous and thoroughly recommended!!!

this massage place is very nice; and the staff are kind. I came with my boyfriend 2 days ago, he received a great treatment however my therapist was not experienced and was very soft. I’m a seasoned massage customer so I know what I’m talking about. I asked multiple times for stronger pressure and for her to focus on a certain body part, which she didn’t adhere to. We returned today for another massage and I had asked multiple times, both on WhatsApp and in person for 2 STRONG therapists. I received a strong therapist but my boyfriend received the same woman who I had a few days ago even though we explicitly asked to not have her. He walked out halfway through as she was not addressing His requested areas and was just way too soft. The receptionist was accomodating and only charged us for one massage but it is unfortunate that we wasted time and energy on this whole situation. And we were both left dissatisfied and disappointed. Please if you say you will provide a good and strong therapist that you actually provide what you say you will. Maybe this is a communication issue but it is important that staff understand English, especially when dealing with people’s injuries and bodies.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. I am VERY picky when it comes to massages. Lived in Thailand for several years and done hundreds of treatments in my life. By now I have my top 5 therapists in Asia that I love and the rest feels average 🙂 And Iresh is 100% part of that.
If you're looking for a massage that will actually help you with your problems, this is your place.
Iresh is a fantastic therapist and he does one of the best deep tissue massages I have had in my life. He really knows the body well and will definitely find all your problems. You can also tell him what you want to focus on in the treatment. It's not a one-size-fits-all program.
I've been going to the massage shed for weekly treatments for 2 months and it has really improved my overall well-being.
I doubt there is a better place in all of Sri Lanka. So glad I got the recommendation by a friend.

Perfect massage!!! If I had to suggest one thing for improvement, it would be the occasional noise from the road, which is barely noticeable thanks to the complete relaxation they create during the massage. A gem of a place and wonderful staff. I went back and would return to the country just to experience it again! Thank you so much.

Of all the massages I had in Sri Lanka, this was undoubtedly the best by far. In fact, we had one, and we liked it so much that we went back the next day before leaving Hiriketiya.
The place was clean, the service was superb, and the work was exceptional. They know what they're doing from beginning to end. We chose "The Lot" massage, and for an hour and a half, they professionally found and worked on every knot and muscle in our bodies.

We stayed in Hiriketiya for 35 days and tried all of the massage places and by far the best massage we had was at massage shed!!
All of the masseurs were amazing but if you like a really deep tissue massage I would book a guy called Nippa!

Today I had back massage done by Daily. She was strong, she went to the pain points and neutralised them. Of course you need to repeat it, only one time will not help much, but even that Daily is so strong that for me, man, that was incredible. I love her 🤩💪🙏

We came here twice on our trip and absolutely LOVED it. Particular shout out to Dana and Dayli - they were our two masseuses, and gave us an incredible deep tissue massage. It wasn't painful (like i'm used to with a deep tissue massage) but the pressure was still great - and they were very thorough. Best massage we've had in a long time!!!

I found Massage Shed from just walking by. The sweet aroma caught my attention. I booked a deep tissue massage, and it was by far, the BEST massage I've gotten throughout my Southeast Asia journey. Iresh was my massage therapist, and he used adequate pressure to relieve my stiff neck, and tight muscles. What I appreciated the most was his attention to detail. Highly recommended!!

Highly recommended! My girlfriend and I both had a deep tissue massage. The cabins are clean, and a new mattress is prepared. You are asked to remove appropriate clothing without feeling uncomfortable. Soothing relaxing music plays, and you are asked at the beginning whether the pressure of the massage is appropriate. The massage itself was systematic and very pleasant.

Great place! I had a 90-minute “The Lot” massage and it was simply amazing! My masseur, Iresh, was fantastic. The pressure was consistent throughout the whole session, and he managed to find the tight muscles and work on them perfectly. This is my third time here. It's a truly wonderful massage place. I've been massaged by Dana each time, and just recently by Kasi. The women were incredibly kind and always checked in with me to make sure I was okay.

This is honestly the best massage I've had in Sri Lanka so far! Kasi, you're amazing 😍 Very professional, and I had goosebumps constantly. I loved it so much! The salon is also very clean and tidy, and during the massage, there's some nice music playing and a fan to keep you warm! ❤️

Great place, clean, they do the massage in a sort of opened outdoors space with curtains, really good. The staff is super nice and they responded super fast when I booked. I got a GREAT massage from Iresh. Definitely coming back and I recommend in Hiriketiya.

I chose the deep tissue treatment for 90 minutes and I am completely satisfied, the massage was amazing, the masseur very professional and attentive to the tensions in my body. I am used to getting massages in Asia and this is truly one of the best massages I have ever had! In addition, the welcome is warm and the place very clean. I highly recommend this massage center.

The massage is normal, somewhat similar to Vietnamese, but what the Vietnamese do in one hour and $8, here they can't do in an hour and a half and charge $30. The massage itself is a solid four. Another minus star for not keeping the agreement. We signed up via WhatsApp and discussed three full massages of 1.5 hours for a certain amount at the same time for the family. In the end, my 12-year-old son got a massage for 30 minutes and the rest of the hour he just lay there!

Had a great experience here! My partner and I both got a 1-hour full body massage (7000 Rp) and it was truly heavenly. Both of the masseuses we had were phenomenal, such a relaxing and welcoming environment. I’ve had many massages across Southeast Asia and this is for sure top 5 (I’ve had at least 30 at this point lol). We unfortunately already left the area but if we’re ever in Hiriketiya again we will definitely be coming back! Absolutely recommend this place !!

Just as the other reviews detail, I had the best massage I've ever had at the Massage Shed. The lovely owner has learnt traditional massage from his Grandfather and taught every masseur himself. We just had the most amazing massage ever! We’ve had quite a few massages across Southeast Asia, but this one was honestly the best so far. We were treated by Haysha and Kasi, both were incredible and really listened to what we needed. They were super respectful and professional, asked about any pain points and actually worked them out. The place is incredible, the table is very very comfortable (I have had many massages, both in Spain and in Asia, and the truth is that the place is great, if you could hear the sea it would be 200/100).
As for Dana, she is very professional and has a very pure and beautiful energy. For me it has been a gift to the soul and a journey inward. I passed by with the bike and fate brought me to Rishi’s hands. She fixed my body and during all this time I had remembered her and recommended this place to anyone who came to Hiri. Today it was my turn to come back. I cried after the massage, not only for having the best experience ever but also for seeing how much the business have grown and what their were able to build. They deserve it!!! they are an example of how things make with love, purpose and professionalism will always find a way. All their knowledge comes from the grandfather’s owner who taught him. Superb 1.5h deep tissue massage by Dana. As a full body massage this was top 5 all-time for me. I had many sports massage for my legs, but this was the full package. Deep enough to hit the knots, stopping till the trigger points released, while also being relaxing. From thumbs, to feet, neck, back of my knee. It was great. There's relaxing music and a basic shower in the toilet to wash off the massage oil. Note: there's a 3% fee on card payments. You can book in person or through whatsapp.

The Massage Shed was such a special find for me. The space is so beautiful, calming, and welcoming, and all the staff are so friendly! It’s off the main road so it’s quiet and you can really feel at peace here because of the ambience, decor, and trees. The perfect place to get a massage. The owner, Indica, is so knowledgeable about the body and really helped me with an injury in my hamstring through massage (he has an amazing skill for finding pressure points) and also showing me some stretches that I could do to release the tight muscles. I was even given flowers for international women’s day 💞 I am so grateful for this place and will be returning many times!

Hit and miss experience. Women shouldn't be given a massage by a man unless they are asked in advance. Especially when they are shown to the massage room by a woman and asked to undress and then a man walks in. Very uncomfortable. I gave this feedback to the staff, so I hope it has been taken on board.

If you’re currently viewing the different massage options in Hiri, stop - and go here. I walked by and the aesthetic of the simple and humble “shed” looked appealing. A friend then told me she’d had an amazing Ayurvedic massage the day before. After an in-cred-ible foot massage from Indi (the owner) - I immediately booked a full body the next day which was without question the best massage of my life. The pain from my hamstring injury was gone for WEEKS - my shoulders dropped back into a “normal” place from hours of computer work. The staff of the Shed are all kind and extremely qualified in helping your body. Indi is one of the kindest souls I met on my Sri Lanka journey and I will forever recommend this business to anyone travelling through Hiri. Thank you!! 🫶🏼

Had deep tissue massage from Neepa. He does not follow a protocol but does what is necessary. Best massage ever had here, very firm, no joke. He removes blockages, sometimes you just cry from processing. Not from the pain. I recommend this place and would even like to stay extra days in Hiriketiya for it.

Really good Surf Zen massage after days of surfing. Some of the therapists really try to release the knotted spots on your back which can hurt and take a bit of the zen away. Make sure that the pressure of the therapist matches your needs.

I don't know if there is a higher quality massage in the south of Sri Lanka or on the whole island than here. It seems that they are the only ones who know how to make correct, sensible Deep tissue. Everything we tried before did not give even 1% of a similar effect. There were three of us and each had an incredible master. Thank you 🙏
UPD: I've already been here three times! I went to LOT, Deep tissue and Ayurveda Bliss. I can confidently recommend any of them. Ayurveda is weaker than the others, but I asked the master to make it stronger, and in the end it was magical!

I went to the shed since I got recommended from my friend, I had Ayurvedic massage by Indika was incredible! The treatment was something I’ve never experienced, well pressured and relaxing whole my body after long trip. it was exceeding my expectations. Also I appreciated that he offered me extra time for the massage as he had to leave sometimes during my treatment. The shed is cosy, affordable prices, and they provide professional massage, definitely best massage in Hiriketiya. I would come back again for sure! Thank you Indika and his team:))

My gosh this place was incredible! Best massage place in Hiriketiya and locals also said the same.
I would definitely recommend to go here for the full body 1.5hr massage. We did it in the evening after dinner and it was so relaxing and well priced. Would love to come back if we are in Hiriketiya again!

Exceptional massage tailored to your own needs. They accommodated my husband and I as well as our 9 year old. The owner is very knowledgeable and experienced. My friend and I found this place as we were staying in a guesthouse close by and were not disappointed. We got a massage appointment for the same day and wow, what a massage it was. I just came out of having a massage with Dana. She was incredible. I have such intense pain in my shoulder / neck area and she knew exactly what I needed and where. I have had a lot of massages in Sri Lanka and Dana by far has had the highest level of expertise with really good knowledge of anatomy. I am going back in two days for a body scrub!

Had such a great massage here. They fit me in at really short notice and the lovely lady did an incredible massage. It was effective & relaxing and even tho it’s a ‘shed’ it was a nice calming environment. I felt the tension released from my shoulders immediately! 6000lkr for 1hr massage 😊

The best massage I ever had. I took a full body deep tissue massage and it was amazing. I do a lot of sports so I have muscle stiffness often and i really like when the masseur is touching all the trigger points and applies a good pressure. I felt like a newborn after.

Wow, just had my best massage so far in Sri Lanka, booked earlier in the day at what is literally a shed with two massage tables, staff were friendly and skilled and price was market rate, would recommend any traveller to go here, it really is outstanding!🤗😊

This place was recommended to me because I had back pain for two weeks. Two days before I had a lumbago, so I couldn't move at all anymore.
The guy put his hands on my back for a minute and knew exactly where he had to push. After am hour of deep muscle massage I felt an instant relief. It was the first day that I could move properly again.
I came back the next day for a 2h full body, deep muscle massage. It was the first day I didn't need pain killers.
He knows exactly where to go in deep to relief the tension. It's like a magician who can feel the tension in your body. This guy is more like a chiropractor or a doctor. You should try to go more than once.

Well then, how can I explain: surely the best massage of my life! I chose the deep tissue massage. After discussions with my masseur, we agreed that it was the best option given that I was doing a week of intensive surfing. It was really great! I received a 1h30 massage from head to toe (true ahaah) and the masseur's gentleness and skill are incredible. If you're looking for a moment of relaxation, I highly recommend it!
